PAMELA MORE - Pilates Instructor
Specializing in the classical method, Pam earned her certification in 1997 from the Pilates Studio of New York, under the direction of Master Teacher Romana Kryzanowska. Upon completion of 600 apprentice hours and testing, she returned to Arizona to teach the members of the Sonoran Club fitness center at Desert Mountain golf community in Scottsdale, where she was employed from 1995-2003.
Offering mat classes and private sessions on the apparatus, Pam began to hone her craft in an existing 100 square foot room. Her vision of a larger studio came to light with the eventual expansion of the clubhouse and a space large enough to accommodate two instructors. Eager for a challenge, she left in 2003 to pursue a career as an independent contractor. She has since had the opportunity to teach in several studios across the valley, gaining knowledge while becoming a part of the growing Pilates community.
Coming from an aerobics instructor and personal trainer background, Pam was intrigued by a system of exercises that creates symmetry in the body. The precision, flow and difficulty levels captured her attention. She has observed the subtle corrective changes that occur by performing just a few repetitions of each movement in a consistent manner. She likes having the ability to modify an exercise to fit a client's needs making Pilates accessible to all fitness levels.
Pam looks forward to attending continuing education seminars and the chance to connect and reconnect with colleagues; but most of all, to reflect and stir her creative thoughts for the year ahead. She is proud to be a second generation instructor passing on Joseph Pilates' legacy. The longer she teaches this system, the more she discovers its uniqueness and Joe's true genius.
